World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft, affectionately nicknamed World of Warcrack, is an addictive online role-playing fantasy computer game that I got sucked into by one of my buddies about a year ago. I've never been overly fond of computer or video games, but World of Warcraft(WOW) has actually managed hold my attention for more than 15 minutes.

For those not familiar with the game, it's a ton of fun, especially if you enjoy the fantasy genre and like playing online with buddies and meeting new people. Some are jerks, but hey those are featured in real life too. :P WOW requires a bit of critical thinking and problem solving skills as you run quests so if you're looking for a game to engage your brain, WOW offers some of that. There are other things you can do with your characters besides quest. You can take them shopping for new armor and stuff, go to the occasional party during festive times of the year, and the characters have many ways to emote. There's also just basic killing gnarly creatures if you'd rather just do that.

I've already corrupted my little brother and now he's like, 25 levels higher than me now because he couldn't leave the game alone over the summer break.

I went through and deleted several of my lower level characters so I don't have to pay to move them to a new server. It's not too horrible starting over with them, but I won't do so with my main toon, Nitefire as she's level 40 now. I may leave her where she is, but I'm not 100% sure. When I was new to World of Warcraft, I thought the PVP servers would be lots of fun, but I've had all I feel like putting up with the corpse camping. Corpse camping is when a member of the opposing faction(usually at least several levels higher than you) or a group(usually at least your level or higher) kills you(usually when you're busy running a quest or fighting a monster yourself) and then hangs out by your corpse waiting for you to find it and resurrect. Then they kill you again and again just for shit and giggles! Once or twice is okay. I get that it's a PVP server, but multiple times is excessive and uncalled for. Call me no fun, but I don't believe in tactics like that even though apparently this sort of dishonorable and cowardly behavior is considered okay on PVP servers. I personally don't think it's okay so I'm recreating my characters on normal servers that don't permit this crap. I'll fill them in once I get some leveled up a bit.
